Attic Insulation for North Texas Homes

Attic insulation is the layer between your living space and the hottest part of the house. We add blown-in fiberglass, batts or spray foam to attics across Azle, Fort Worth, Dallas and North Texas, after a free energy audit shows what your attic actually needs.

What's Included

What an Attic Insulation Job Includes

Every attic follows the same order we use on every project: measure first, seal the leaks, insulate, then prove the result.

Free Energy Audit

A blower door test, thermal imaging and a duct inspection show where the attic is losing heat before we quote anything.

Air Sealing First

Top plates, can lights, plumbing stacks and electrical penetrations are caulked and foam sealed before any insulation goes in.

Insulation to a Measured Depth

Blown-in fiberglass to a documented depth with baffles at the eaves, batts cut to fit, or spray foam where the attic calls for it.

Verified Before We Leave

Depth markers throughout, photos, and a walk-through with you at the end of the job.

Choosing the Material

Blown-In or Spray Foam in the Attic?

We install both, and we will recommend the one that fits your attic and how long you plan to stay in the house.

Blown-In Fiberglass

R-2.5 per inch loose-fill

Best for: Existing attics, retrofits, and topping up insulation that has settled over the years.

Installation matters: Even density, proper baffles at the eaves, accurate depth markers throughout. We measure. More on our fiberglass insulation page.

Spray Foam

Open-cell R-3.5 to R-3.8, closed-cell R-6.5 to R-7 per inch

Best for: Vented attic floors (open-cell) and unvented attic assemblies, where foam air seals and insulates in one step.

Installation matters: Closed-cell foam has to bond to what it is sprayed on, so in most cases existing fiberglass comes out first. More on our spray foam insulation page.

Who It's For

Is Your Attic Due for More Insulation?

Most of the homes we audit in North Texas were built from the 1990s through the 2010s, and the average attic we find holds about R-19. The 2012 edition of the energy code set an R-38 attic target for this climate zone, so many attics carry about half of today's target.

It is worth a look if upstairs rooms run hot in summer, the air conditioner rarely shuts off, the old blown-in insulation has settled, or you are already planning air sealing or duct sealing and want the attic done at the same time.

Attic Insulation FAQs

Straight Answers About Attic Insulation

How Much Attic Insulation Does a North Texas Home Need?

The 2012 edition of the energy code set an R-38 attic target for this climate zone, and the average attic we find in the homes we audit holds about R-19. The audit measures what your attic has today, so the recommendation starts from your real number, not a guess.

Can New Insulation Go Over the Old?

Usually yes, if the existing material is dry, clean and intact. We inspect first and document what is underneath. Closed-cell spray foam is the exception: in most cases the old fiberglass comes out first so the foam can bond.

How Long Does Attic Insulation Take?

An energy audit is a half-day. Air sealing alone is usually a day, and an attic spray foam job is typically one to two days. We coordinate around your schedule and your HVAC.

Should I Seal the Ducts While the Attic Is Open?

Often, yes. Most homes leak 15 to 25% of their conditioned air at duct joints, and in North Texas those joints are usually in the attic. We mastic-seal every joint, fitting and boot.

Do You Insulate Attics in Fort Worth and Dallas?

Yes. We are based in Azle and serve Fort Worth, Dallas, Weatherford, Springtown, Highland Park and the surrounding North Texas area. If you are within an hour of Azle, we likely cover you. Call 817-670-5671 and ask.
