Service · Spray Foam Insulation

The right spray foam, in the right places.

Open-cell. Closed-cell. Honestly specified. Most contractors will sell you spray foam everywhere, we'll tell you where it belongs and where it's a waste.

What It Is

Insulation and air-seal in one application.

Spray polyurethane foam is a liquid that expands into a solid the instant it hits a surface, filling every gap, crack, and irregularity. That's the part that makes it outperform every batt or blown product in real-world installed performance.

Air-seals as it insulates

No separate caulking pass. The foam fills every gap and bypass simultaneously.

Highest R-per-inch

Closed-cell hits R-6.5 to R-7. Saves depth in shallow cavities and rim joists.

Adds structural strength

Closed-cell rigidifies framing, wall racking strength can improve 30%+.

Lasts the home's life

Properly installed foam does not settle, sag, or lose R-value over 80+ years.

Choosing the Right Foam

Open-cell vs. closed-cell, the real differences.

They are not interchangeable. The right choice depends on where it's going, what's behind the wall, what the climate is doing, and what the homeowner needs from the assembly.

Open-cell

R-3.5 to R-3.8 per inch

Density: ~0.5 lbs/cu ft. Lighter, more flexible, easier to trim.

Best for: Interior wall cavities, vented attic floors, sound-dampening between floors, retrofits where breathability matters.

Cost: Lower per board-foot. Roughly half the price of closed-cell.

Trade-offs: Not a vapor barrier. Absorbs water if soaked. Not for exterior wall sheathing in mixed climates without careful detailing.

Closed-cell

R-6.5 to R-7 per inch

Density: ~2 lbs/cu ft. Rigid, structurally additive, sheds water.

Best for: Exterior walls, crawl spaces, metal buildings, basement rim joists, anything exposed to bulk water or vapor drive.

Cost: 2–3× per board-foot vs. open-cell. Higher upfront. Higher R-per-inch reduces depth needed.

Trade-offs: Rigid (no give for settling). Premium price. Requires more skill to apply evenly.

How We Install It

Four steps. No shortcuts. The crew makes the result.

Two installers, same product, same house, wildly different results. Spray foam is unforgiving: temperature, ratio, pass technique, and depth all have to be right.

Diagnose

Walk-through with blower door and thermal imaging. Identify where foam belongs and what gauge.

Prep

Cover floors, mask penetrations, protect HVAC and electrical. Plywood walkways in attics.

Spray

Two-component proportioner heated to spec. Even passes, controlled depth, no missed bays.

Verify

Post-install thermal scan to confirm coverage. Trim, vacuum, walk you through the result.

When Spray Foam Wins

Scenarios where foam is the right call.

We install fiberglass too, so we have no incentive to push you toward one product. When foam is the answer, it's because the conditions actually justify it.

  • You plan to stay in the home long enough to recover the premium (5+ years)
  • You're chasing comfort issues, hot upstairs, cold rooms, drafty corners
  • You're remodeling and have open framing access
  • You have a metal building, barndominium, or unvented attic assembly

Spray Foam FAQs

The honest answers we give every homeowner.

Does spray foam off-gas or have a smell?

Properly mixed and applied foam fully cures within 24 hours and is inert. The smell some homeowners report is from off-ratio installs, the result of inexperienced crews who don't monitor proportioner temperatures and ratios in real time. We do.

Can I add closed-cell over existing fiberglass?

In most cases, no, we'd remove existing fiberglass first to expose the substrate and ensure adhesion. We'll diagnose case-by-case.

How long does the job take?

An attic is typically one day. A whole-home retrofit is two to three. We coordinate around your schedule and your HVAC.

Will it lower my energy bills enough to justify the cost?

In the right application, yes, typical bill drops of 20–40% on properly diagnosed homes. We'll show you the math during the audit before you commit a dollar.

What's the warranty?

Our workmanship is warrantied for the lifetime you own the home. Manufacturer warranties on the foam itself are typically 25 years. Properly installed, it lasts indefinitely.
